Apples, cinnamon, and crumble, what's not to like? If you are one of those who don't like apple pie because of the crust, this is for you! It has the apples and no crust and not just that it replaces the crust with delicious crumble. Come one come all apple lovers. So tie on your apron and lets get started!
Filling:
Ingredients:
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
6-8 c. apples
1/4 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. flour (optional)
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
Preheat oven to 375 F. Peel and cut apples into slices. (I use Lee Valley's apple corer.)
(💡Tip: Don't cut the slices too thin or they will go mushy.) Stir in lemon juice to keep the apples from going brown. Mix in sugar, flour, and cinnamon.
Put into 9 X 13. Put crumble on top. Bake for 25 - 30 min.
Crumble:
Ingredients:
2 c. flour
2 c. oatmeal
2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. slivered almonds
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/4 c. margarine
Melt margarine in bowl. Stir in flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, slivered almonds, salt, and cinnamon. Mix well. Crumble onto apple filling. Hope you enjoy!
