Apple Pie

The love of apple pie is a normal one...but do you have a good recipe? Or do you have one that just turns out but isn't outstanding? If you want to taste an amazing apple pie THIS IS THE POST FOR YOU! So tie on your apron and lets get started!
Ingredients:
Pie Crust:
5 c. flour
1 lb. lard
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
2 Tbsp. vinegar
water
1 tsp. salt
Mix together flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in lard. Mix egg and vinegar in large mug.
Pie Filling:
6-8 c. cored, peeled and sliced (You may need to adjust depending on your pie size)
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3 Tbsp. flour
Peel, core, and slice the apples. (Tip💡: If you are looking for an easy way to peel, core, and cut you apples, I use the Lee Valley apple corer. All you have to do is cut the sliced apples into the size you want.) Put apples into large bowl and lightly toss lemon juice and apples together. In a small bowl, stir together sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Sprinkle over Apples and mix in. Put into prepared pie. Put top crust on. Bake at 425 F. for 15 min covered loosely with foil. Reduce heat to 375 F. Bake for 15 min while covered. Uncover and bake for 20 min. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
Hope you enjoy!

Where do you get lard? I don't normal (actually, I never have) use it for recipes, or can you just use butter?

    1. You can get lard at any grocery store. If you want to use butter you would need to find a recipe that has the butter adjusted already
