Chocolate Chip Cookie Breakthrough!

One of my brothers is always complaining about my cookies being too crispy and not soft and chewy enough so last time I made Chocolate chip cookies I adjusted the recipe and guess what? He said they were nice and chewy and really liked them! Would you like to know how I did it? Tie on your apron and lets get started!
I used the chocolate chip recipe from and earlier post and changed it a little. So here's the recipe with the changes.
Ingredients:
1 c. butter or margarine; browned
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
5 tsp. vanilla
4 egg
5 1/3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
Brown butter or margarine in a heavy duty sauce pan. While you are browning the butter or margarine, cream shortening. Once butter is browned, pour into creamed shortening. Add sugars and stir before creaming. Cream for 1 minute. Add vanilla and eggs. Cream while you get the flour mixture ready. Stir in flour mixture and chocolate chips. Scoop onto cookie sheets. Bake at 350 F for 5-8 minutes. (💡Tip: Take the cookies out when they are still light coloured and very soft. This will give them time to set without making them crispy.)
Hope you enjoy!
